New Zealand birds eggs


New Zealand has an incredible diversity of birdlife: tiny songbirds, medium-sized penguins, and not so long ago, giant moa. Have you ever thought about the eggs that these birds hatch from? This model shows the range of egg sizes laid by native New Zealand birds when moa were alive.

Paper description:

The evolution, taxonomy, morphology and behaviour of birds. Recognition of New Zealand birds by sight and sound. Practical work includes dissection and analyses of plumage colouration and vocalisations.
